Sharon Collins knew something wasn’t right when she heard a thump.
“It happened right out of the blue. There was no warning,” she said Friday afternoon from her North Bay home.
Collins’ husband, Bob, had just got up, was getting dressed and heading to Tim Hortons for coffee.
“I was still in bed and heard this thump,” Collins recalls.
Collins jumped out of bed and saw her husband on the floor. At first he looked lifeless, and then he started to try to get up.
“I kept telling him to not move. I was calling 911,” Collins says. “I knew he had a stroke.”
