The primary objective is to examine the effects of a 6 month program of combined aerobic and resistance training (AT+RT) compared to that of aerobic training alone (AT) on cardiovascular fitness (VO2peak) and mobility (6 minute walk distance) in people ≥3 months following stroke with motor impairments, participating in an adapted cardiac rehabilitation program.

The secondary objectives are to evaluate the effects of AT+RT compared to AT alone on the following:

a) Cognition and health-related quality-of-life (HRQOL)
b) Muscle mass and muscular strength
