  • District Stroke Centres
    A facility that has written stroke protocols for emergency services, emergency department and acute care, including: transport and triage protocols; ability to offer thrombolytic therapy to suitable ischemic stroke patients; timely computed tomography (CT) scanning and expert interpretation; clinicians with stroke expertise; and linkages to rehabilitation and secondary prevention.
  • Regional Stroke Centres
    A facility that has all the requirements of a district stroke centre, plus neurosurgical facilities and interventional radiology.
  • Stroke Prevention Clinics
    An outpatient clinic for people who have signs and symptoms of a recent stroke or transient ischemic attack.
